A EYE Did Not Write This

A.I. didn’t write this. I wrote this. A.I. could very well write this much better than I can. If A.I. wrote this you would have a subject a theme a plot a problem to solve and a resolution or at least an explanation for why there’s no resolution. What you read would make sense. What I say doesn’t necessarily make sense. I’m not precise. My powers are limited. A.I. has unlimited powers.

None of what I’m saying matters or means anything. I’m saying it because this is my blog. I can say anything I please.

Don’t listen to me. Cuz if you listen to me you may hear some uncomfortable shit….

You’re probably wasting your time, reading my stuff. Cuz A.I. didn’t write this.

The one thing I have in my meager writer’s arsenal, beyond the reach of A.I., is Spite.

One possible definition of spite is to intentionally annoyhurt, or upset even when there might be no (apparent) gain, and even when those actions might cause the person spiting harm, as well.[2] Spiteful words or actions are delivered in such a way that it is clear that the person is delivering them just to annoy, hurt, or upset. compliments of Wikipedia

A.I. is a tool invented by imperfect humans to help other imperfect humans achieve perfection. A.I. is a supportive tool. I’m not a tool. I’m not supportive…unless I feel like it. I help people because I feel like it. Not because I’m a good person. I’m not always a good person. I know I’m not a bad person. I’m only bad when I feel like being bad.

The Greatest of all the Russian writers said it better than I’m able to say it. So I let him say it:

I am a sick man…. I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man. I believe my liver is diseased. However, I know nothing at all about my disease, and do not know for certain what ails me. I don’t consult a doctor for it, and never have, though I have a respect for medicine and doctors. Besides, I am extremely superstitious, sufficiently so to respect medicine, anyway (I am well-educated enough not to be superstitious, but I am superstitious). No, I refuse to consult a doctor from spite. That you probably will not understand. Well, I understand it, though. Of course, I can’t explain who it is precisely that I am mortifying in this case by my spite: I am perfectly well aware that I cannot “pay out” the doctors by not consulting them; I know better than anyone that by all this I am only injuring myself and no one else. But still, if I don’t consult a doctor it is from spite. My liver is bad, well—let it get worse! Notes from Underground, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

I’m writing my blog out of spite!

Having this blog. Writing the stuff I write. Addressing an empty room. Paying 166 bucks a year for the privilege to make a fool of myself on a platform. Does this make sense? So why am I doing this? I’m not making money (which is the only good reason, I’ve always figured, to do anything). No. I’m writing this blog purely out of spite. I’m working against my own best interest. A logical person my age would spend what precious time his has left doing something logical. Not me. I’m dribbling away in this silly blog. Why? I don’t know why.

Today I do know why

I’m pissed off!

Today I’m pissed off.

That’s why I write a lot of my shit.

But today I’m especially pissed off.

I stumbled onto Facebook yesterday and found a post from my friend John Farley. He shared a link to Matt Mikalatos.

Here’s Matt’s post in his own words:

Luis Leon

An 82 year old man was taken by ICE at a green card replacement appointment. His family was never informed where he was or how to get ahold of him until he was in a foreign hospital… despite the fact that he was a permanent legal resident of the US. Luis Leon came to the US 38 years ago. He had been tortured in his native Chile by the administration of the dictator Augusto Pinochet. The US gave him political asylum and he came legally to the United States in 1987. Luis built a life here in the US. He worked at a leather manufacturing plant, raised four kids, and eventually retired. He’s well-loved in his neighborhood in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He likes to garden and fish and do small repairs for the neighbors. In June he lost his wallet, which had his green card in it. No problem. Luis and his wife made an appointment to get it replaced. But when they arrived for the appointment, Luis was handcuffed and taken away, and his wife was held for ten hours until her granddaughter showed up to get her. His family couldn’t find him for a full month. The immigration detention tracker never showed him as in ICE custody. Immigration officials had no answers they were willing to give, despite multiple calls. The family called local prisons and hospitals and even morgues but couldn’t find anyone who knew where Luis was. A relative in Chile called the family yesterday to let them know that 82-year-old Luis was now in a hospital in Guatemala… apparently deported to this country by the US government, though ICE still won’t even confirm that Luis showed up for his green card replacement appointment, let alone that they had him in custody and deported him. Now that the family has found Luis, ICE says they are “investigating” what happened. Sometimes when I share these stories, people push back and say something like, “If he was here for all these years, why didn’t he become a citizen.” It’s a really weird and ignorant question for a variety of reasons, but more importantly it’s off topic to this post. So before we change subjects to why someone might not get their US citizenship, let me pose a few counter questions: Do you think legal permanent resident of the US should be taken into custody at what should be a normal administrative appointment? Do you think people should be held with no access to lawyers or family? Should permanent legal residents be deported to a country other than their home country and put in a hospital without ever informing family or legal representation? Because that’s what we’re talking about. Meanwhile, we have no idea if ICE deported a legal, permanent resident of the United States on purpose or somehow “by accident.”……..since ICE’s tripled quota for arrests they’ve had a lot more “mistakes.” And I’m not just talking about the more famous moments, like “administrative errors” that involve illegally deporting someone to El Salvador….Meanwhile, Luis — a permanent resident of the US who came here legally, had legal status and doesn’t have so much as a parking ticket — has been taken from his family, kept from legal counsel, deported to a country he has never been from, and put in the hospital.

Why?

Because he lost his wallet.

Ice Thugs are roaming the streets, folks, here in the good old U.S.A.

Sweeping up old dudes like Louis.

It’s getting worse. The big beautiful bill has allocated 170 billion dollars extra money for ICE. All this extra added dough is gonna help the masked men snatch people off the street.

why do they gotta wear masks you might ask.

Because they are THUGS and they are afraid of you.

Simple as that.

None of this makes sense. Unless you’re seeing it in a movie. A movie about NAZI GERMANY. But this aint a movie. This is happening as I speak…

They’re snatching up old dudes.

They got this tin can Goebbels running the show!

Look at this loathsome figure. Is he nasty? Of course. Is he weird? Shit. Even Trump thinks he’s weird. This so-called human being is one of the most powerful men in Trump’s government.

I should head for the hills.

But wait a minute. I’m a U.S. citizen.

Shit. I might be on their list, in spite of my citizenship.

Look at me.

I deserve to be on a list.

It’s all over now, Baby Blue!

  1. Brilliant post, Gloomy. Though for me, spite is like a bee sting; whereas vindictive is what Trump just did: release 26,000 pages of FBI -compiled documents on Reverend Martin Luther King; and 56 years after King’s assassination and against the wishes of King’s family and civil rights groups.: Why? Obviously to draw attention away from the Epstein documents that will assuredly float to the surface and take Trump to the bottom. Can you imagine wanting to denigrate a great, great man who earned the Nobel Peace Prize that Trump wants and will never receive? The Dictator War Prize perhaps.

  2. I enjoy your blog – Good reason to keep writing – it’s real – not an advertisement – original – not Facebook – not AI – A real person –
