Not all White Trash is bad

Parton sees the term “White Trash” as a badge of honor. I guess you can make the argument that there’s “good” White Trash. Dolly Parton would certainly fit into that category.

The label has a long history

The traditional use of the phrase has always meant to be offensive.

In his classic study, Democracy in America (1835), French aristocrat Alexis de Tocqueville sees the state of poor white southerners as being one of the effects of the slave system. He describes them as ignorant, idle, prideful, self-indulgent, and weak, and writes about southern whites in general: “From birth, the southern American is invested with a kind of domestic dictatorship … and the first habit he learns is that of effortless domination … [which turns] the southern American into a haughty, hasty, irascible, violent man, passionate in his desires and irritated by obstacles. But he is easily discouraged if he fails to succeed at his first attempt.” Wikipedia

I’m struck by certain key phrases in Tocqueville’s description:

Domestic dictatorship.

Effortless domination.

Passionate in his desires and irritated by obstacles.

Easily discouraged if he fails to succeed at his first attempt.

Sounds like he’s talking about Donald Trump.

That’s right! Donald Trump. The man who announced he would be a “dictator” on day one of his second term. The man who “owns” the Republican Party and close to half the voters of the formerly good old U.S.A.. by a kind of effortless domination. The man who bragged he would, in his first term, build a big beautiful wall and Mexico would pay for it. But when it didn’t happen right away, he gave up. The man who said he would bring an end to the war in Ukraine on “day one” if he was charged with the White House yet again. 6 weeks in, and it hasn’t happened…he’s certainly given up on that one, too. Check him out. He’s out golfing.

 All these words fit Donald Trump to a tee.

And yet, for a man who’s failed in most of his businesses. Even bankrupting three casinos. I’ll give Trump credit for being the supreme Con Man. I go further and say he’s the greatest White Trash Con Man that has ever lived. Look what he’s accomplished in barely a month of his second term!

Trump has screwed the country up more completely in a mere five weeks than anybody could’ve imagined. Frankly, I did not think something this huge was possible.

At this writing Donald Trump has alienated all of our European Allies, not to mention Canada and Mexico, our closest trading partners. Cooperation is not an idea Donald Trump understands. Donald’s idea is simply, “what’s in it for me?” A kind of White Trash Philosophy he’s followed his entire life.

DOMESTICALLY: Thanks to his sidekick, Uber White Trash Elon Musk, Donald Trump is effortlessly dissolving 90 years of prosperity for the middle-class, crafted by FDR, a man you might call the antimatter of Donald Trump. Yet a man Orange Head hopes to emulate by attempting to grab a third term. And a forth term. And beat him with a President-For-Life term. Kind of like they have in those Banana Republics Trump derisively refers to as Shithole Countries.

A kind of White Trash Elegy!

A vane cowardly man attempted to lecture a self-effacing courageous man on decorum and gratitude. Prompting the lumbering Visigoth at center to erupt into a rant of remarkable sordidness, where, in a single vomitous grudge spew he described every claim so well documented in the Mueller report.

A report the details of which have been endlessly argued but never refuted.

Amid Trump’s Grudge Fest and finger jabbing Zelenski, to his credit, never raised his voice. He took it like a man. While White-Trash-In-Chief ended his Shit Show Tantrum by claiming Putin The Wretched was his friend. They’d been through a lot together!

I can’t help it.

Remembering the Shit Show is pissing me off again. The more I think of it. The more pissed off I get. Let Bernie Sanders weigh in.
